For the orders outside of North America that were placed the week of November 9th (2015), a number of customers mistakenly received misconfigured YubiKeys. We sent out replacements to all customers that were shipped the Octocat keys that week to be certain. On the other key you're referring to (that was recognized by the Personalization Tool), you should be able to confirm:

*U2F didn't work (no attestation certificate was loaded)
*Slot 1 and Slot 2 were not configured
*No CCID applets were loaded (YubiOATH, PIV, OpenPGP)

If you somehow received one of these and DIDN'T receive a replacement, please open a support case at yubi.co/support and we will replace it. I believe we are completely out of Octocat keys, so we would ship a YubiKey 4 as replacement.
Statistics: Posted by ChrisHalos — Wed Aug 10, 2016 12:34 am

That's very strange.

The one i was using was using was also a github key but i can configure it like a regular one.
It has the logo on the back for github and it was from that order.

Looking in the personalization tool
Firmware 4.0.6
its got all features supported except for Ndef.

looking at the ones that work and the ones that don't physically they are identical.
Statistics: Posted by atwolf — Tue Aug 09, 2016 10:54 am

The GitHub keys are U2F-only (Security Keys). They aren't going to work with the Personalization Tool because they cannot be programmed. https://www.yubico.com/faq/how-do-i-tel ... at-key-is/
Statistics: Posted by ChrisHalos — Fri Aug 05, 2016 4:51 am

Ages ago when there was that special deal of getting the Yubikey4 github versions for cheap i grabbed 2 of them.

I recently had a need to actually use them as one of my older yubikeys stopped working properly.
No matter what i do i can't get them to detect in the yubikey personalization software and the button does not do anything.
The system installs the HID-compliant device and the USB Input device but does not create a HID Keyboard device or a Smartcard device that my old YubiKey did.
I have tried the yubikeys on 3 different systems and updated the software to the latest version.

When looking in device manager and the Events for device shows

Code:

Device Started
Device Configured (input.inf)
Device not migrated with the error log
Device HID\VID_1050&PID_0120\7&3227c5b2&4&0000 could not be migrated.

Last Device Instance Id: USB\VID_04E8&PID_6860&MI_03&CLASS_03&SUBCLASS_01&PROT_01\7&26506E44&0&0003
Class Guid: {745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da}
Location Path:
Migration Rank: 0xF000FFFFFFFFF120
Present: false
Status: 0xC0000719

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong could these 2 keys be faulty?
Statistics: Posted by atwolf — Fri Aug 05, 2016 2:57 am
