If you're asking about the login experience for users once this is added to your organization's Salesforce account, no, they won't need to install anything. Personally, I'd wait a bit longer as U2F will soon be supported for Salesforce login (within the next 1-2 months).

I would like to use the "YubiKey for Salesforce".

The manual "YubiKey for Salesforce - Admin Guide" in page 9 is described as following; "Download the latest version of the YubiKey for Salesforce application from the Salesforce AppExchange website for the operating system you are using."

In my understanding for using AppExchange application, any software is not neccessary to be downloaded to my PC. To use "YubiKey for Salesforce", any software must be downloaded into my PC?
