As an update, the issue with that key expanded to anything it was inserted to.
Yubico Support has requested it be sent in for investigation.

Hi,

We've done a test with YubiKey 2.2.3 and MacOS 10.8 Mountain Lion and it works fine for us. Can you please let us know if you have other software running at the same time?

Anyone else seeing issues with Yubikey on MacOS 10.8 Mountain Lion?

After upgrading, my usual Yubikey (firmware 2.2.3) with 2 configurations, Yubico OTP, and Static Mode now only blinks (1hz).

It worked fine on the same USB port on 10.7, it still works on a Windows 7 box.
On the MacOS 10.8 iMac, my previous yubikey (1.3.1 firmware) still sworks on the same USB port.
