However when I remove the yubi key from the USB port the
graphic interface (xdm) hangs and will not accept any more keyboard input
from the real keyboard. Replacing the yubi key into the USB port
causes the keyboard to begin working again. The mouse works fine,
even when the yubikey is removed.

This is probably not a problem with the yubikey software,
but I thought that someone else might have run across this problem
and have a solution.
