I have been using an AutoHotKey script to input my 38 character passwords into Yubikeys. The script looks like this:

Code:

!u::
{
SendRaw <my static password>
}
return

I have been getting my static password from grc.com/password by selecting the first 38 characters of the
63 random printable ASCII characters password. Then i paste that into my AutoHotKey script and Alt+u pastes the password when I use the YubiKey Configuration Utility.
Statistics: Posted by WinstonWolf — Tue Feb 08, 2011 4:58 am

Please note that you can not paste a copied text into the "Scan code input" field while reprogramming the YubiKey using the Windows "YubiKey Configuration Utility". You have to manually punch in the password that you want the YubiKey to emit in the "Scan code input" field.

We hope this helps!
Statistics: Posted by samir — Mon Jan 17, 2011 10:37 am

YubiKey provides any interesting feature called "Scan code mode". You can use the "Scan code mode" feature available under the static YubiKey configuration of the YubiKey configuration utility to program the YubiKey 2.0 to emit your own password (of up to 16 characters in YubiKey 2.1.2 and up to 38 characters in YubiKey 2.2) containing alphanumeric characters.

For programming the YubiKey for "Scan code mode", follow the steps given below:

1) Select the "Create a static YubiKey configuration (password mode)" from the Select task screen
2) Select the "Scan code mode" option
3) In the same screen enter your desired password in the "Scan code input" field
4) From the "Specify output parameters" screen, select the appropriate parameters (All parameters are optional) and reprogram your YubiKey

We hope this helps!
Statistics: Posted by samir — Thu Nov 11, 2010 11:30 am
