Hello Andreas,

Sorry i am not so sure of what are you trying to achieve. You cannot back up the AES keys (you cannot take out the secret key from the Yubikey)

If you have a static long password configured, just press the Yubikey button, copy it in a text file and save the text file encrypted somewhere safe where you can retrieve it in the moment of needs.

Regards,
Tom.
Statistics: Posted by Tom — Mon Mar 25, 2013 8:56 am

Alright, I'm going to resurrect this subject that was sort of asked in another forum but was not answered from my needs, and not in this NEO-forum.

I would really want to back up the base values that the key is sort of "made up" from, that it uses to generate it's OTPs and static password -- which are the two configs I have on it. In my scenario I cannot simply insert another yubikey, for one even if I had one extra I cannot find the functionality to "read/load" a config from an existing yubikey so as to be able to follow that with writing other keys? OR just save those values to some nice safe place.

I love my Neo thus far, but I cannot (prefer not to) buy an extra one for the same price just to have it un-used in a safe somewhere; it's something I might to in the coming months though. Until then I'd really want to back it up as I have started to lock most of my digital life to my yubikey.

Thanks in advance!

Kindly,
Andreas
Statistics: Posted by andreas — Fri Mar 22, 2013 10:39 pm
