Thank you for your reply and help, network-marvels, I apologize for the delay in replying to your post. I have successfully programmed one of my 3 Yubikey 2's to work in both modes, easily and without problems. I will re-program the other two and let you know how they go as well.

Thanks again
Jake
Statistics: Posted by Jake — Wed Jul 29, 2009 5:52 pm

I've had and personalized a number of Yubikey 1's with no problem, but I can't figure out how to use the Yubikey 2. I read the docs and they say that the OTP is generated by a short press on the key, while the second OTP or static password is generated by holding the key down for much longer.

I used the Yubikey PersonalizationTool v2 to assign a static password and the tool stated that I was successful, however no matter how long I hold the key down for all I get is an immediate OTP string.

How can I access both modes in my 3 new Yubikey 2s? What am I doing wrong or have missed?

Thanks for the help
Jake
Statistics: Posted by Jake — Wed Jul 15, 2009 7:56 pm
