Thanks, that explains the behavior. I would then suggest that the tool should change the name of the option from "No private identity" to "Random Private identity" which reflects what the option actually does.
Statistics: Posted by mhile — Mon Aug 24, 2009 9:49 pm

Is the secret id and AES key options set to a fixed value ? If not, the configuration utility will as default randomize these values. Then the static key output will be different.

Hope this helps,

JakobE
Hardware- and firmware guy @ Yubico
Statistics: Posted by Jakob — Mon Aug 24, 2009 9:39 pm

- Create a static ID
- Advanced (44 characters)
- Add a Public identity (fixed value 6 characters)
- Select No for a private identity
- Add a fixed value key
(no options selected on next 2 windows)
- Write to configuration 2, Click run
- test the key (value into text file)
- Click run again
- test the key I get a different value

I get different static passwords if I reenter all of the information again. I can generate identical static passwords ONLY if I add a fixed private identity
Statistics: Posted by mhile — Mon Aug 17, 2009 6:53 pm
