In std. debian (and I assume therefore alos in Ubunutu) you'll have the ykchalresp cli utility which can generate the totp's for you.
In the yubico ubuntu ppa you'll have the yubiauth gui utility which can to this for you.
Search on yubico ubuntu ppa enad yubikey to find instructions to implement this.

Hope this proves useful for you...

Kind regards, Erik...
Statistics: Posted by erikie — Mon Jun 22, 2015 10:40 am

Hi.

I'm trying to use yubikey on a site that supports google-authenticator as a 2nd factor authentication.

According to this http://www.yubico.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Yubico-TOTP-Setup.pdf link, it shouldn't be so hard.

I installed "Tools for yubico yubikeys (python-yubico-tools) and "Python code for talking to yubico yubikeys (python-yubico)". However, I have absolutely no idea how to run these. I can't find any good information on the internet. The help pages for linux are nowhere to be found.

So, my question is:

- How do I use a yubikey for TOTP on Ubuntu?

EDIT:

This page has some info on what I want: http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/sau ... otp.1.html (How the hell do I hyperlink in this forum's software?)

However, it's console based. Is there no GUI, as in Mac and Windows?

EDIT2:

I found "Yubikey personalization tool" GUI, which can only be found if one writes "Yubikey" in the Ubuntu-Software-Center. Yubico won't get you there.

Now, where is the Yubikey TOTP generator GUI?
Statistics: Posted by visibleninja — Fri Jan 30, 2015 12:29 pm
