The issue is most likely the keyboard language settings:

https://www.yubico.com/2013/07/yubikey- ... d-layouts/

The YubiKey sends Scan Codes rather than characters (to act as a keyboard), and the YubiKey is programmed to expect US English language. Using another language can change the output.
Statistics: Posted by ChrisHalos — Wed Feb 03, 2016 12:05 am

Did you configure HOTP in slot2? If so, you have to click and hold the disk for 3-4 seconds for each OTP code. One click will spit out configuration from slot 1 and long press will get you the results from slot 2.
Statistics: Posted by bashok001 — Tue Feb 02, 2016 11:59 pm

I have the exact same problem using the YubiKey 4 nano.

After 2 hours of trying I have decided to switch to "challenge-response" following this post and it has worked flawlessly the first time ...

I believe there is something wrong either with the documentation, the optkeyprov-2.4 setup or the key itself.

Hope someone will help figuring it out.

Cheers
Statistics: Posted by pierrer — Thu Dec 10, 2015 3:36 pm

Hey there,

I recently acquired a Yubikey NEO, and tried to configure it with KeePass. I followed all the steps from here, but when I lock the database and try to unlock it, it doesn't work (I have to use the hex secret key).

I think the problem comes from the fact that, everywhere I saw someone use this feature on its Yubikey, the 8 digit string is all numeric, but when I press the button of my key (for 3s in order to access slot 2), I get strings like "çàà(çéèç" (this one has been generated by the Yubikey). It looks like to me that there's a problem in my key's configuration, but I don't see where it comes from (as I followed the steps from the tutorial and tried it several times), nor how to fix it.

Does anyone know how to make it work?

Thanks.
Statistics: Posted by babolivier — Tue Nov 10, 2015 11:02 am
