Cheers, thanks for the post. I'm going to reprogram my keys right now. With a 63 character password I feel it's a really good Idea to have a second Yubikey hanging around in case of an emergency!
Statistics: Posted by jahzoone — Sun Aug 08, 2010 1:37 am

Yes, for emitting the same static password you need to reprogram both the YubiKeys.
Statistics: Posted by samir — Wed Jun 23, 2010 3:05 pm

Thanks for your reply. So this as a result means that i can't change my static password without reprogramming the whole yubikey?
Statistics: Posted by matze2ooo — Tue Jun 15, 2010 12:49 pm

It is not possible to get the current public-id, private-id and aes key values for your Yubikey unless you have recorded them while reprogramming the yubikey in static password mode.

You have to program your Yubikey again. While programming your Yubikey please record public-id, private-id and aes key values and use the exact same recorded values for reprogramming the other Yubikey in order to configure it to emit the same static password.
Statistics: Posted by samir — Tue Jun 15, 2010 12:34 pm

okay i just stumbled over this thread

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=513&p=2229&hilit=backup#p2229

Quote:

If you are using the YubiKey in the static password mode, it is possible to reprogram a second YubiKey to emit the exact same static password (which is emitted from the first YubiKey) by reprogramming the second YubiKey with the exact same parameters (i.e. same Public ID, Private ID and AES Key) that were used for reprogramming of the first YubiKey.

Now my question is: how can i find out my current {public, private}-id and aes key? Hello

I have bought two Yubikey's and so far I am quite impressed with this solution. I am using one key as an single-factor OTP generator with the second configuration holding a static password. Now I would like to configure my second yubikey holding the same static password... is this possible? Somehow I got lost within the configuration tool... have I missed some configuration thing within the tool?

Regards
Statistics: Posted by matze2ooo — Sun Jun 13, 2010 8:54 am
