I recently bought a NEO because of the NFC capabilities. What I wanted to be able to do was use the NEO's NFC to transmit my PGP passphrase to my Android phone so that I could read encrypted messages through Android's K-9 email and AGP apps. I have run into some trouble and am looking for help. Can this even be done?

Here is what I have done so far:

Added a static password to the previously empty configuration slot 2.

Followed this guide for setting up OpenPGP keys on the NEO.

Attempted to change to a static password for Slot 1, thinking it would transmit the static password via NFC once I progammed it under Tools->NDEF Programming within the Yubikey Personalization tool.

The last item is where I have run into trouble. I cannot change anything for Slot 1. I get the following message:

Code:

YubiKey could not be configured. Perhaps protected with configuration protection access code?

So, is the way I am wanting to use my NEO reasonable? Possible? Is there a better way to accomplish what I am wanting?
Statistics: Posted by davemh — Thu Apr 17, 2014 3:21 pm
