For U2F support, you're looking for a NEO with firmware 3.3.0 or greater (introduced September 2014). Any NEO older than this cannot be made to support U2F, and we do not offer an upgrade option.

PIV is on all NEOs historically, so even if it's older than that, it should show it supports PIV. If you're on Debian it's most likely a software problem. Check around the forum for info, it has been discussed before.
Statistics: Posted by ChrisHalos — Mon Nov 07, 2016 8:54 pm

Hi,

I have YubiKey that looks like 'YubiKey NEO' (I do not know the date of fabrication),
but the YubiKey NEO Manager (1.4.0), compiled for debian/jessie, tells that "U2F/FIDO: not supported".

My questions are:

Does my YubiKey is definitively too old to support the U2F/FIDO ?
Does there any means to upgrade it to support the U2F/FIDO and PIV ?

Kind regards,
Statistics: Posted by vtarasov — Mon Nov 07, 2016 6:51 pm
