The firmware cannot be field upgraded so an upgrade means that we need to send out a new physical key.
If a serious bug or issue is found, we'll of course provide replacement Yubikeys free of charge.
Although the Yubikey have not supported pre-boot before 1.3.3, given the anouncement of TrueCrypt support, we consider this as an issue and will therefore replace 1.3.x keys for users who need this feature.
