Firmware upgrade - Policy

We've got quite a few questions the last week regarding firmware upgrades.

The firmware cannot be field upgraded so an upgrade means that we need to send out a new physical key.

If a serious bug or issue is found, we'll of course provide replacement Yubikeys free of charge.

Although the Yubikey have not supported pre-boot before 1.3.3, given the anouncement of TrueCrypt support, we consider this as an issue and will therefore replace 1.3.x keys for users who need this feature.

With the best regards,

JakobE
Hardware- and firmware guy @ Yubico
Statistics: Posted by Jakob — Tue Jan 13, 2009 12:32 pm
