Makes getting things on wi-fi eleventeen times easier, especially things like set-top boxes. Sadly, the Roku TV doesn't support keyboards. Or Microsoft's "Save Wi-Fi password to a USB flash drive" thing. Alas, I've had to split my WPA key into both slot 1 and slot 2.
Statistics: Posted by Chrontius — Mon Aug 15, 2016 5:40 am

well a 64 with just modhex (16 different characters) gives you in fact a weaker password than 38 with 256 character choices

256^38=32592575621351777380295131014550050576823494298654980010178247189670100796213387298934358016
or shorter
3,25...x10^91
while
16^64=115792089237316195423570985008687907853269984665640564039457584007913129639936
or shorter
1,15...x10^77
Statistics: Posted by My1 — Sat Feb 20, 2016 9:44 am

It's really a matter of preference.

Scan code - Maximum of 38 characters, all ASCII 256 characters accepted

Advanced - Maximum of 64 characters, only modhex characters accepted

I prefer making custom passwords with more character options, and I haven't found any reason for needing more than 38 characters. I've read a lot about Static Password and understand conceptually how it works. My question is, is there a preference between Scan Code or Advanced? Is one more secure than the other? Which is the ideal for the "Static Password" mode? Appreciate the input!
Statistics: Posted by Aurelius — Tue Feb 16, 2016 5:19 am
