I've set up my Y4 under macOS Sierra 10.12.3. Everything went smoothly. Did the process from PIV Manager 1.4.1 using the button labeled "Setup for macOS". I can login and unlock screensaver with PIN correctly. I guess if there's a way to automatically launch screensaver once they Y4 is removed from USB port.
