Update: So I was able to get into recover mode on the Mac and edit the authorization file - turns out I had commented out the wrong line. Edited and now working - here is the interesting part... when I rebooted I had to reauthorize iTunes. Also my problem with the 2-4 minute login, it disappeared.

OK, so a few weeks ago I setup my OS X 10.11 login to use my Yubikey for my account on the Mac. It's been working great..

Until I upgraded to 10.11.1 - after that my login started to take 3-4 minutes. In my troubleshooting I thought that it might be something to do with the modifications I did to the pam.d module. So I edited my pam and commented out the "mode=challenge-response" line that I added.

Now of course I'm locked out.

So my questions are: when I get home tonight will I be able to restore the pam.d from time machine? or do I have to restore the entire machine back to a point prior a few weeks ago prior to installing Yubikey?

Can I edit the pam.d if I disable System Integrity?

Luckily 99.9% of what I do is in the cloud anyway so it's not too bad of a situation yet..
Statistics: Posted by bike4life — Mon Oct 26, 2015 6:01 pm
