Use YubiKey on a Mac Keyboard

On a Mac, the 1st-time YubiKey experience may be confusing. So we devote this document to help 1st-time users.
  1. Under "About this Mac" / "More info..." / USB, the Yubikey can be found. The VID is 0x1050 (from Cypak) and the PID is 0x0010

  2. Under "System Preferences" / "Keyboard & Mouse", a button "Change keyboard type..." appears for non-Apple keyboards

  3. The "Keyboard setup assistant" appears the first time the Yubikey is plugged into the computer. It seems like it is okay just to close this dialog. If not, just press continue, and...

  4. The "Identifying your keyboard" dialog appears. Press the Yubikey's key here and although the OS discovers that it cannot possible be the right one, it proceeds to the next dialog.

  5. The "Select keyboard type" dialog. Select ANSI and press done.
